The Obsidian Museum “Carlo Lugli\u00e8” is the only single-site museum facility in Europe dedicated to this extraordinary product of volcanic activity. It offers in-depth activities to visiting young men and women that include guided tours of the collection, educational workshops and visits to the archaeological area in the Obsidian Park on Mt. Arci. <\/p>\n

For the 2025-2026 school year, different educational solutions designed by our staff experienced in archaeology and museum education are available. Excursions in the Park allow you to appreciate the natural environment and learn about the extraordinary workshops of the Neolithic period. <\/p>\n

The workshop provides an introduction to the stone-polishing technique used in the Neolithic period. Using special tools like prehistoric artisans, participants will be able to drill, smooth and decorate steatite to make their own personalized ornament, discovering, step by step, how a simple stone fragment can be transformed into a unique object. <\/p>\n
