INTERREG GE.M.IN.I project – Geomatic Monitoring Innovative Intelligence.

Projects

The Municipality of Pau is the protagonist of an important European initiative: the INTERREG GE.M.IN.I cross-border project – Geomatic Monitoring Innovative Intelligence. This program involves several Italian regions, including Tuscany (with Carrara as lead partner), Liguria, Sardinia and France, with the municipality of Nice, with the aim of monitoring, protecting and enhancing the rocky sites of the Mediterranean, places of extraordinary geological, archaeological and cultural importance.
Thanks to the exceptional presence of obsidian in its territory, Pau will represent Sardinia and contribute with a pilot action on the black trail of Sa Scaba Crobina. The project involves the use of advanced environmental monitoring technologies and immersive digital tools, which aims to make the cultural and scientific content related to obsidian more usable and engaging and actively protect the original contexts, counteracting degradation and promoting responsible and sustainable use of the territory.
